families, finances and futures. Legal plan members have access to a wide range of professionals, tools and other valuable resources which may include:
- Legal Representation: Members can meet with an attorney in the attorney's office or in the courtroom to get legal help and protection. Attorney fees for most covered matters are 100% paid-in-full when members use a Network Attorney.
- Telephone Legal Advice and Consultation: Attorneys can easily handle certain issues over the phone. Members can consult with a Network Attorney over the phone as often as necessary - and as long as necessary - for any of the following legal needs:
- General Legal Advice and Consultation
- Standard Will Preparation
- Living Will and Durable Powers of Attorney Preparation
- Small Claims Assistance
- Follow-up Calls and Letters
- Specific Document Preparation
- Document Review; up to four pages
- Reduced Fee Services: If members need legal representation for a legal situation that’s not covered under the plan, but not specifically excluded, they can still save money by using an attorney for a Reduced Fee Benefit. Network Attorneys can provide a reduced fee of at least 25% off their normal hourly rate for legal matters.
- Legal Tools and Resources: Members can simply go online to their Legal Benefits Web Site to access:
- Law Guide of easy-to-understand legal articles to help members research and learn more about their legal situation.
- Hundreds of Do-It-Yourself Legal DocumentsTM, for when members want the convenience and control of preparing a variety of legal documents themselves.
- Identity Theft Services: Members have toll-free access to Certified Identity Theft Case Managers to help them get their life back in order and repair any damage done to their identity. The case managers will:
- Explain what identity theft is and how to prevent it
- Provide resources to minimize and recover from identity theft
- Explain relevant plan coverages
- Provide an identity theft prevention kit
- Provide an identity theft victim action kit
- Monitor the resolution of the situation
- Immigration Assistance: If members are required to utilize the United States Immigration Process, the legal plan will:
- Provide toll-free access to an Immigration Case Manager who provides information on the immigration process
- Offer advice from an attorney via telephone on how immigration law relates to a member's situation
- Provide access to Network Attorneys at a reduced fee for covered matters
- Financial Education and Counseling Services: Experienced financial counselors are available over the phone. Counselors are committed to offering members a level of awareness and confidence to effectively manage finances on topics such as financial and retirement planning, budgeting, Social Security, and cash and debt management
